The Queen gave a lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace for 650 guests who were served a selection from about 10,000 canapés. As you might expect the list of canapés is long and highly varied but a few particular examples stood out to me as interesting variations on classic British themes. Here are some examples:

Cornish cheese wins 2010 World Cheese Awards
An English cheese, Cornish Blue, has been declared World Champion Cheese 2010 at the World Cheese Awards. Congratulations to the Cornish Cheese Company who make the cheese. Now we're well into Spring, garden herbs are starting to come into their own. The picture shows thyme in flower in my herb garden. The herb garden is only small but it means I can pick fresh herbs right through the season.
